A discussion of Ron Forman as mayor of New Orleans Home   ·   SiteMap

Replies/Comments to : Power, Patronage and Politicization

Rather than telling people to 'get a life' perhaps you can tell readers what you think is 'discriminating against Ron Forman' and/or what part of this web site is 'making lies'. I don't have any special knowledge of the subject matter, and for that reason find the site interesting. What actual information can you share?

Posted by citizendog on 2/20/2006

The million dollar question is who is behind this site?

Posted by Ben on 2/20/2006

Who ever made this webste needs to find a life. Ron Forman would make a great mayor for this city.
Trying to make a fake website discriminiating him is just plain stupid. If you have any reason not to
vote for him that is fine but do not make lies about him

Posted by Grace Perez on 2/20/2006

i think grace perez didnt know what she was talking about. i think she misunderstood and thought ths site was
saying how ron forman would make a poor mayor. i think miss perez should read all the articles before making
a comment and benny boy, what the hell does it matter about who is behind this site.

As usual, the LANDRIEU FAMILY will do ANYTHING to get elected! Please don't patronize the residents of New Orleans—this has “Typical Dirty Landrieu” written all over it. No thanks to the public school system destroyed by Moon Landrieu, some of us are actually educated and intelligent enough to recognize your handy work. Don’t cower behind an anonymous “hit-site” veiled by a few positive mentions and links! A political website is only as positive as its most negative comments. Have enough courage to take responsibility for your low blows. THE LANDRIEU MACHINE… SOOOOOO PREDICTABLE! We would expect nothing less from you.

Scared this time??? You probably should be…

Posted by Elsie Steele on 2/21/2006

Who is behind the site is at the heart of the matter. This is just a modern extension of the anonymous poltiical fliers that pop up in New Orleans during elections.

Unless the people behind this website show their faces, they have no credibility.

I do like the flash header though!

Posted by RedSocks on 2/21/2006

Love the quotes from NOLA chat. Let me guess how it works. You make anonymous slanderous posts about Mr. Forman on nola chat board, including childish racist remarks about his nose, then you repost them on this site to make them appear to be "official" and done by third parties.

Do you think voters who spend time online will fall for such obvious stunts?

Posted by nola champ on 2/21/2006

I made this website and i will do anything to win this mayor race. Ron Forman would probalymake a better
mayor than me but i want to be mayor soo please vote for me. Ill give everybody a hug. If u dontvote for
methan ill make a hatesite aboutu

Posted by mitch Landrieu on 2/21/2006

it will be revealed shortly.

I'm thinking Molly Brown had something to do with the site. 'course, I'm just a humble computer geek.

One thing confuses me, Ms. Brown - you have fraudulently registered this site against ICANN regulations - why did you do that?

Posted by columbo on 2/22/2006

I just wanted everyone to know that my crazy cousin, Molly Brown, who lives at 1 Collins Diboll Circle in the New Orleans Museum of Art, put up this site because she loves the Landrieus so much, she will do anything to help Mitch get elected. Mitch can't raise money in this race because he has never done anything of substance beyond hold elected office and shake people down for cushy contracts - the New Orleans business community knows this and they know New Orleans needs a leader who is above politics, can bring people together and accomplish something.

It is despicable that after Mitch suggested that Ron run for mayor, he couldn't stand the idea that someone other than the Landrieu family might have some real power in New Orleans so he decided to run himself and put his sisters henchwomen up to the job of dirty tricks. Unless you want these kind of dirty tricks to continue, say no to the Landrieus and call the Unsinkable Molly Brown at 504-975-4888 and tell her to take this illegal site down.

Posted by Molly Brown's Cousin on 2/22/2006

How, in good faith, can you attack the character of Ron Forman?: You are no doubt in Laundrieu's camp...of course you could be in Nagin's camp. or maybe Couhig's camp...OK, you could be in many camps but not in the AI Commissionson's camp. Face it, you lost the golf course and you're going to lose the city. Buck up. Take the pain

Posted by Michael Duvet on 2/23/2006

Molly's Brown's cousin, can you please post Ms. Unsinkable's e-mail address?

Posted by Elsie Steele on 2/23/2006

According to the ICANN registry, it is mollybrownnola@yahoo.com . she is so sneaky she changes it a lot and I am not sure if she is still using it. Let me knows if the sneaky girl actually writes back.

Checked the whois information. It seems the people behind this website are breaking the "truth in domain names act" law.

A copy of it is found below.

The "Truth in Domain Names" act has nothing whatsoever to do with this. As the name of the act may tell you, it is about the truth of the domain name, not the truth or otherwise of the name of the person who registered it. (The act makes it illegal to have a misleading website name for the purpose of attracting children for immoral purposes).

So your posting has about as much intellectual value as one would expect from the pseudonym you chose.

Anyone that believed New Orleans needed four more years of Marc Morial has no integrity or no sense, what we need are more Landrieu's. We can't have enough Landrieu's in government positions, they are glamorous like the Kennedy's and really need to be elected we owe it to them. Also, Mitch is almost as brilliant as Mary.

Thank you for this forum to share our opinions .

C'mon people. Let's face it...Ron selects skilled people to be on his team...how else could you get out a PR disaster when you drop a bunch of visitors/benefactors into the shark tank at the aquarium? Credit where credit is due.

"No Tree Left Behind."
We trusted Ron Forman with the stewardship of one of our city's most valuable assets, Audubon Park. While
spending millions on developing the golf course, there was not one arborist on staff to preserve and maintain
the health of the trees. Post-Katrina my inspection of the felled trees indicated massive termite infestation
throughout. This could and should have been prevented. It seems Ron Forman has borrowed a metaphor from
George Bush, likening a healthy park to "No Tree Left Behind."

Ron Forman did not save the fish at the aquarium during Katrina.

Posted by jacque cousteau on 2/24/2006

He might not have been able to save the fish at the aquarium (which is not his fault), but at least he saved all of the monkeys... which is more than I can say for Nagin!

Posted by Oscar on 2/24/2006

A FOLLOW-UP TO THE ABOVE COMMENT: I don't even live in New Orleans, and I don't know a thing about any of the candidates. I saw a piece on CNN about what an incredible job Ron Forman did in keeping all of the animals safe at the zoo. Sorry, jacque cousteau, you left the door wide open. I just couldn't help myself!

Posted by Oscar on 2/24/2006

!!!? Ron Forman did an "incredible" job keeping the animals at the zoo safe???? I think NOT! Every ounce of credit for that goes to the curators who stayed, such as Dan Maloney-- his boss had nothing to do with it!

Posted by Jenny on 2/24/2006

And furthermore, that is Forman's stock-in-trade for his whole career: taking ALL the credit for everything he's ever touched, whether he deserved any credit for it at all!

Posted by Jenny on 2/24/2006

I can only assume that none of the comments posted here come from people who watch moi on the Daily Show or my esteemed colleague Steve Colbert. I really don't get why it is SO important to find out who is "behind" this site, but I gotta tell ya, I see his influence all over it.

Posted by Jon Stewart on 2/24/2006

Does anyone remember what the riverfront USED to look like before the Aquarium/IMAX? Does anyone remember what the zoo USED to look like? Does anyone remember the fight that it took to make these places what they are today? Ron Forman made these things possible. If he turned the zoo/riverfront from what it was to what it now is, think of what he can do for the city. Oh wait-- that would require an imagination. Perish the thought.

And to the orginator(s) of this website: You have procalimed to all that you are indeed a coward. Congrats. To hide behind the moniker "Molly Brown" really took some thought, didn't it? Your parents must be so proud.

Posted by Ben Roy on 2/25/2006

The Forman attack site is officially registered to "Molly Brown, Unsinkable," at 1 Collins Diboll Circle, the address of the New Orleans Museum of Art. Museum Director John Bullard said he was appalled anyone would drag the museum into a political campaign.

I called the number listed in the WHOIS, 504-861-2537. A young-sounding female voice sounded all confused about this association of her phone number and this site. She said she had nothing to do with it. I advised her to look into it, but she didn't seem particularly excited by the idea of someone using her number without her knowing. It's your call...;-) hehe.

Bruce Eggler (Times-Picayune writer) wrote an extensive article in February 1975 in The States-Item, entitled "New Zoo stirs cries of 'halt'", that discussed the very controversial zoo expansion, the Bureau of Governmental Research study from 1971 that recommended it, the property tax increase in 1972 and bond issue that were to pay for it... and Ron Forman is never mentioned!

Ron Forman was hired by then-mayor Moon Landrieu (oh, the ironies) in 1973 to be Deputy Director of the Audubon Park and Zoological Garden. The most important official interviewed for the 1975 article was Park Director John Moore.

Can you possibly see why so many people question how Forman gets so much credit for the rebirth of the Zoo?

Posted by uptowner on 2/25/2006

Ms Texas, you are right about one thing at least... if L. Ronald Forman is our only hope, we truly are lost. But hopefully, he is too experienced to repeat Jindal's biggest mistake: when pandering to the most extreme right-wing of your constituency, try not to go so far that you turn the stomachs of everyone else, making it impossible for them to do anything but stay home or vote for your opponent.

Posted by Amy on 2/25/2006

MS. JENNY, IN THE PIECE ON CNN, FORMAN DID IN FACT GIVE CREDIT TO EVERYONE ELSE. I AM FROM TEXAS AND SAW THE PIECE ON CNN AS WELL. FROM WHAT I COULD TELL, HE DID NOT TAKE ANY CREDIT AT ALL. IN CASE YOU HAVE NO EXPERIENCE IN THE WORLD OF BUSINESS (WHICH BASED ON YOUR COMMENTS, I ASSUME YOU DO NOT), THE MOST IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTIC IN A GREAT LEADER IS HIS ABILITY TO ASSEMBLE A GOOD TEAM. CLEARLY, HE DID THAT. IN MY RESEARCH AS AN OUTSIDER WHO HAS ONLY VISITED NEW ORLEANS FOR CONVENTIONS A FEW TIMES, IT SEEMS LIKE FORMAN IS YOUR ONLY HOPE. THE ONLY ACCOMPLISHMENT I COULD FIND ON THE INTERNET FOR MITCH LANDRIEAU IS HIS ABILITY TO GET ELECTED TO OFFICE. OTHER THAN THAT -- ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I COULDN'T EVEN FIND THAT HE EVER HAD A REAL JOB. AND NAGIN, WELL, WE DON'T EVEN NEED TO GET INTO THAT. THE WORLD IS WATCHING. I HOPE YOU ALL DON'T BLOW IT LIKE YOU DID WHEN YOU DID NOT ELECT BOBBY JINDAL YOU ELECTED BLANCO. SO HOW'S THAT WORKING OUT FOR YOU? THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WAS SO IMPRESSED BY HER IN ALL OF THE NATIONAL COVERAGE. I'M DONE WITH THIS SITE BECAUSE IT IS POINTLESS. I WILL NOT BE LOGGING IN AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS A COMPLETE WAST OF TIME. GOOD LUCK NEW ORLEANS... IF SOMEONE LIKE LANDRIEAU IS ELECTED, I THINK YOU'RE GOING TO NEED IT...

Posted by MELISSA MAREENI on 2/25/2006

Forman's official website is: www.formanformayor.com

Posted by Tired of Negative Campaigning on 3/2/2006

I created this site to expose Ron Forman's weaknesses. Who should we elect? The Honorable Lieutent Governor Mitch J. Landrieu -- the clear choice to lead us in our rebuilding efforts. I will never reveal my real name or gender because I simply do not have to! Get over it people... it's called free speech!

[editor's note: this is not the real Molly Brown, who does not endorse any candidate]

Posted by The Unsinkable Molly Brown on 3/9/2006

TO THE CREATOR OF THIS SITE:
If you don't like Forman... Who do you suggest we elect???

Posted by Elsie Steele on 3/9/2006

five words: ALLIANCE FOR GOOD GOVERNMENT ENDORSEMENT.

Run Ron Run! : )

[ note TO the editor: nervous Molly? ]

Posted by Elsie Steele on 3/9/2006

I agree James. The beauty is that there will be so much more where that came from! Mitch is such an easy target, and Rob is so much smarter. Polished career politician Landrieu does not equall intelligent man!

I think that "Not a member of the cult of Ron" has sour grapes over Mitch's loss of the Alliance endorsement. Face it Landrieu people... it's not a slam dunk.

This is going to be fun...

Posted by I Also Loved The Mitch Bashing! on 3/10/2006

The Alliance also endorsed Jay Batt, about as bad-government a candidate as you will ever see.

The credibility of an Alliance endorsement is obviously at an all-time low.

Posted by Not a member of the cult of Ron on 3/10/2006

Anonymous sites like these have no credibility and only bolster Forman's chances. After all who will beleive information from someone who is too chicken to show themselves. It raises more questions about the people behind the site, then the candidate.

For the record, I am supporting Couhig! It was a joy watching him smack little Mitch around!

The editor of this site is both deleting and moving posts in different orders than they have been written. If this is to be a forum for free speech, it should not be manipulated!

Editors note:To date we have only deleted one post, because it was abusive and asinine. We did discover a little bug in our software that caused comment message to come out in a peculiar order but believe we have fixed this.

Posted by What? on 3/11/2006

What is one sign of a cult? When its members continue to believe blindly in their leader despite constant exposure to the truth, a truth that has very little to do with the reality their leader espouses. And when exposed to the truth, backed up by citation after citation, as this site has done, the typical Forman supporter just gets all foamy at the mouth and blathers "lies, lies!" Has the Times-Picayune been lying about Forman for 30 years!? Every one of the stories on this site are verifiable with a little research, most of which came from the pages of the TP! C'mon people, WAKE UP! SNAP OUT OF IT!

Posted by Not a member of the Forman Cult either on 3/11/2006

Plueezeee..the TP has been covering up his "mishappenings" for years. Wanna see Formans jaw freeze? Ask him about the Paul Weldon scandal at the AI....hmmmmm...TP covered that up as well...they know...

Posted by natitoches on 3/12/2006

How dare you bring the Ogden name into this site! Only two of the family have been employed by the AI and both have served...well, maybe served, with distinction.
